Like each year that has passed, 2013 also has shown me its duality of sorts. The bad times are hard to forget and good times I wish to cling onto forever. On a global level too, there have been significant occurrences of this duality I speak about. But, all in all, it is good to have survived another year as we march forth with hope in 2014. A hope that there will finally be a revolutionary change in the Indian Government, a hope that peace will prevail over the mid-eastern regions and people will see the end of wars and bloodshed, a hope that people accept each other with an open mind and not fluster over Gay Rights, a hope that we all will find ourselves in a more refined, better constructed society based on morals and not made up of bribery and corruption. So many hopes! Not that I expect them to be fulfilled in 2014 itself, but the year to come can sure be the beginning. A beginning to rectify mistakes, to fulfill promises, to achieve goals, to dream.
Procrastination is human tendency and we always wait until the next new year to start things. Well, no more of that stuff for me! Hence, this blog. And hopefully many more in the year to come!
I would like to end this post with what I started: the good and bad phases '13 made me go through. You simply cannot go into the next year without partly thanking and partly cursing the present one! I am truly thankful for all the wonderful people in my life, even those I am not actively in touch with; you will always be treasured. I am sad about the ones who left me to go to a better place, you will be always remembered. Anger, grudges, rejections, failures aren't what I want to carry into '14, only the lessons they taught me. Finally, to all those who wish well for me and also to those who don't, I wish well for you all.
Most importantly, party hard and welcome 2014! Who knows, it may hold the key or keys to your happiness! Happy New Year!
